Activating your new Q Mastercard

It's easy to activate - select an option below to activate your new card.

Activate using the app

Activate via the app by downloading the app via:

You will need:

  • Your new Q Mastercard
  • Your smart phone
  • The Q Mastercard app

When you login:

  • If you are a first time user, you will need to set a new password, click ‘don’t have one’ and follow the prompts
    • If your device supports, you can also choose to set up a pin or fingerprint access
  • Accept ‘Terms & Conditions’
  • Access ‘Card Activation’
  • Enter your CVC (3 digit number on the back of your card)
  • You can now set up a 4 digit PIN for your card

Activate online

You will need:

  • Your new Q Mastercard
  • Your temporary password that was sent via SMS

When you login:

  • You’ll need to change your password
  • You’ll be asked to enter your CVC (3 digit number on the back of your card) to activate your card
  • And you’ll be able to set a 4 digit PIN for your card

Activate by phone

Activate by calling us 24/7 0800 359 002 in NZ
(or +64 9 580 7328 from overseas).

You will need:

  • Your new Q Mastercard

When you call us:

  • You’ll be asked some security questions to verify your ID
  • Then you’ll be asked to set a 4 digit PIN for your card

Once you activate and sign your card, you’ll get all the benefits of a credit card and long term finance rolled into one, with:

  • 3 months zero interest, zero payments* on every purchase made with your Q Mastercard in-store and online, worldwide.
  • Lending criteria, $50 account fee, Ts&Cs apply 28.50% p.a. applies from the end of the interest and payment free period.
  • Access to Long Term Finance options.^ An Establishment fee of $55 applies to your first LTF transaction, a $35 Advance Fee applies to all subsequent LTF transactions.
  • Use your Q Mastercard in-store, online, overseas and at ATMs# everywhere Mastercard is accepted.
  • With Q Mastercard you can use Contactless and Apple Pay™, Google Pay™ or Garmin Pay™.
  • You can manage your account online too, simply login to My Account.
